REPORT OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL 2020
We are reporting on the progress we have made during the pandemic period of lockdowns in Sri Lanka and in the UK.
In the past we have been concentrating in improving the standard of Education of the underprivileged Tamils in the North and East of Sri Lanka.
The month of April saw a big rise of Corona Virus patients throughout the world. Therefore, the foundation has shifted its focus and emphasis on to helping the vulnerable people in Sri Lanka, with food provisions and providing food for NHS front line staff in the UK
The foundation’s activities were in the following areas:

Rotary Club of Kilinochchi Town: Donation Rs 300,000.00 250 parcels containing dry food was distributed in Kiranji West and Pamankanndy in the Kilinochchi district through Rotary Club.
Lions Club International, Vaddukoddai: Donation Rs 350,000.00 251 Dry Ration parcels were distributed in Vaddukoddai through the Lions Club
Tharmalingam Niththiyananthan: Donation of Rs 450.000.00- 300 Dry Ration Parcels were distributed in Suthanthirapuram, Viswamadu, Valluvarpuram and Iniya Vazhavu Illam through Volunteers from Mullaitevu District led by Engineer Niththiananthan

Womens Rural Developments Society, Trincomale: Donation Rs 200,000.00- 200 Parcels were distributed in the Trincomalee District through Women’s Rural Development Society.


Sivan Arul Foundation, Akkaraipattu: Donation of Rs 135,000.00 100 parcels were distributed to families in Aligambai in Amparai District through Sivan Arul Foundation.
Oru Paanai UK: Donation of Rs 450.000.00 to continue with their feeding programme in the North and East oF Sri Lanka.
Children Hunger Relief Fund, UK : Donation of Rs 225,000,00 to continue with their good work.
Centre for Child and Youth Empowement, Thirunelveli: Donation Rs 54,000.00 30 parcels were given to the deserving parents of children attending the centre.
Meals for NHS : Donation Of £12,000.00 Meals for NHS (website- www.mealsforthenhs.com) A just giving page was set up by a group of young activist from different backgrounds with the main aim of giving hot meals to NHS Staff working during the evenings and the weekends. The initial target was £1,000,000 pounds which was raised within few weeks of launching the website. Now they have increased the target to £2,000,000. At present 15,428 donors have donated a total of £1,255,167.00 pounds. They have delivered a total of 59,520 parcels and serving 75 hospitals at present with the help of 98 food providers.
Our current work of provision of food to the vulnerable people of Sri Lanka and to the NHS front line staff has been the main focus of the Foundation for this month of April.

Mrs Velupillai Sivayogam of Batticalo– Donation of Rs. 120,000.00-60 parcels containing dry food for woman headed families in Batticalo.  Sponsor: Mrs V Sarvananthar family.

Centre for Child and Youth Empowerment– Donation of Rs. 90,000.00- 50 parcels were given to women headed families in Avarangal west, Siruppiddi, Kondavil, Suthumalai and Uduvil.  Sponsor: Mrs V Sarvananthar family.


Your continuing help and donations have been and will be gratefully acknowledged to help and aid the continuation of current charitable work the Foundation has been doing during these dark days of Pandemic outbreak.
